What Does A Dietitian Do?
Registered dietitians (or “RDs”) are healthcare professionals who have earned a bachelor’s degree in nutrition, undertaken a supervised internship, and cleared a national examination in nutrition. Then, every five years, they have to put in 75 hours of education to stay abreast of the latest research and developments in the field of nutrition and human physiology.
Vesta Elder Care dietitians help people who are having difficulty losing weight or who need to make dietary changes for medical reasons, such as those who are following a diabetic diet.
They consult with patients to learn about their conditions, and then tailor diet programs to their specific requirements. They also do cooking demonstrations, share healthy meal ideas, and teach about nutrition in the classroom or workplace.
Dietitians can find work in hospitals, clinics, and other medical settings, as well as in weight-loss clinics.
